Hot off the Press, a new study published in the academic journal, PLoS-ONE, encourages users not to be shy when it comes to crafting your online dating profile text.
Are you using the apps to meet new people or in the hopes of finding a new relationship? When was the last time you took a good look at your attitude around using them? Online dating tips, as seen on social media sites or heard on podcasts, often focus on the profile setup, but we think that a person’s mindset is equally important.
So many bad dating app photos. So little time. Head to any dating app right now and you’ll see a lot of dating photos out there that are actively preventing single people from receiving the quality of matches they deserve. Could you be someone who is missing out?
Here at Hey Saturday, the original home of dating profile photography, our whole focus is on helping people create the best dating profile pictures they can, to attract more and better quality matches on dating apps. Most of our clients use dating apps like the ubiquitous Tinder, Hinge, Her, Bumble, Grindr, Match, Plenty of Fish (in the US), eHarmony etc. We’ve been serving awesome dating profile pictures since 2013, so have a lot to say and share on which photos make the best ones.
Anyone who knows me at all, knows I love a service or product that serves to disrupt the status quo. So, I knew I was going to be up for learning more about Once’s new approach to matching. Hands in the air. This is a momentous occasion.
How you show up online matters. How you show up on dating apps matters even more.Photos are a powerful tool for communicating, but have you stopped to consider what it is you’re communicating. Put it this way. A handful of poorly chosen pixels on your profile could, potentially, derail your love life and hold up your happily ever after. Wait, what? 😱

Who doesn’t love a good ol’ date night? Of course, the classic dinner and a movie comes to mind. Or, maybe you’re more of the adventurous type? Someone who is keen on trying something new like rock climbing or a quirky immersive attraction. Whatever your jam used to be pre Covid-19, last year the world as we knew it came to a sudden halt. The world suddenly became a whole lot more stressful amid uncertainty. And dating, as we knew it, had become a thing of the past.

Hello Seven hosted a virtual town hall event last year following the murder of George Floyd. The aim of the Town Hall was to reimagine small businesses moving forward from that pivotal point in history. If you yourself run a small business and haven’t seen it, I recommend watching the meeting here. The result of the meeting was asking small business owners to sign up to the Anti-Racist Small Business Pledge (see image below).
